Winemaker's Notes

'16 Pinot Noir, Monument Farm Vineyard and Withershins, a very definite port-like wine. Port is passed to the left, at the dinner table, and this is known as withershins. Made of 100% Merlot from Royal Bluff Vineyard in central Washington. A portion of the wine is shipped back to the vineyard where they distill it into Merlot brandy. This then comes back to the winery and is added to the fermenting Merlot wine to stop the fermentation, leaving about 9% residual sweetness. The wine finishes with 17.5% alcohol and is slightly rounder…. velvety. You will love it.

Back to the Pinot Noir. The grapes for this wine are grown just east of Monument Road, near the monument. It is a nice mix of infused acidity into the fruit driven flavors. Takes one to southern Burgundy.
